Also known as the Umbrella Plant because of how the leaves hang and curve, the large Schefflera Arboricola we have here at Pafe Plants is dressed up ready to go. The botanical name is Brassaia actinophylla and it’s native to rainforests and tropical regions in Australia, New Guinea, and Java. Other names people have given different species of Schefflera are the Queensland Umbrella Tree, Octopus Tree, and Amate. Now you can see what the Arboricola plant will look like in your home before you even leave our shop.
Lighting
Keep the plant in bright light. It can tolerate a little bit of shade but will shed some of its leaves.

Watering
Water when the first 2-3 inches of the soil is dry across a few spots around the soil. Make sure to water thoroughly when doing so.

Growing pains
When the scheffleras are moved to a new environment it might have an anxiety attack and shed some of its leaves. Do not panic when this happens and do not start inventing new ways to treat the plant. Remain calm and reach out to us for more instructions.
